FINDLAY — Recruitment is underway to enroll participants in the next small business development program offered by the Hardin-Hancock-Wyandot-Putnam Community Action Commission. The program consists of 13 sessions from 5:45-8:45 p.m. Thursdays beginning March 3 at The Family Center, located at 1800 N. Blanchard St., Findlay.

The Wyandot County Young Professionals organization will gather for its first meeting of 2016 at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Upper Sandusky Elks Lodge, 320 E. Wyandot Ave. The agenda includes a discussion about efforts for the upcoming year.

The Upper Sandusky Area Chamber of Commerce recognized a variety of businesses and individuals for their contributions to the local economy during its annual meeting Jan. 13.

The Upper Sandusky City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled. The next regularly scheduled meeting is Feb. 1. The Feb. 1 safety committee meeting will take place immediately following the city council meeting.

CAREY — Wyandot County had a successful year from an economic development standpoint in 2015. Economic development Director Greg Moon went over some of the high points of the past 12 months during the quarterly meeting of the Wyandot County Office of Economic Development board on Monday at Vaughn Industries.

The Wyandot Memorial Hospital Foundation is raising money to help fund new surgical video equipment for the operating rooms. The new surgical cameras, scopes and video monitors planned for the project include the latest and most advanced technology for high resolution images and improved LED light intensity, according to a press release from WMH.

CAREY — Hanon Systems, a leading global provider of automotive thermal solutions, is in the midst of launching a new manufacturing facility in Carey. The 100,000-square foot facility to be leased was completed in 2014 by Vaughn Equity Services.
