CAREY — The Wyandot County Office of Economic Development celebrated its most productive year during its annual dinner Monday at Dance on Vance in Carey. The year included a record five business expansion projects; the office also helped establish a community reinvestment area in Sycamore, reinvigorated the Columbus-Toledo Midway Industrial Park in Upper Sandusky, partnered to present the first small business and entrepreneur development fair and hosted a regional JobsOhio network meeting.

CAREY — Kelly Sobol’s life took an enchanted sort of turn, so it’s no wonder she opened her new store front this fall with a visit from Cinderella. Mama Bear’s Den, at 205 S. Vance St. in downtown Carey, is a shop for many custom, hand-crafted items, including dresses and costumes for events and parties.

CAREY — Christmas in Carey is set for 5-8 p.m. Dec. 2. The annual event features Christmas Tree lighting at the gazebo, horse and carriage rides, pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, puppet shows, children’s crafts and free food in the village.

TIFFIN — Small Victories Financial Coaching now is sharing an office with KKR Consulting on the second floor of the Laird Arcade in downtown Tiffin. Small Victories Financial Coaching offers personalized one-on-one financial coaching to help couples and individuals create a plan to take control of their day-to-day financial living, a press release states.

The Upper Sandusky safety committee will meet at 4 p.m. the first Monday of each month beginning Dec. 5. The committee previously was meeting after the regular meeting of Upper Sandusky City Council but opted to move its meetings to 4 p.m.

COLUMBUS — This November, the Ohio Secretary of State’s Online Business Profile program will feature veteran-owned businesses, including one in Carey.

Twelve Upper Sandusky High School senior marketing students captured medals at the recent Ohio DECA District 3 high school marketing competition held on the campus of Ohio Northern University in Ada.

Holiday window revealing in Uptown Upper Sandusky is at 5 p.m. Nov. 17. Fairhaven Community will provide free carriage rides to view windows from 5-7 p.m.

There is nothing like a seamless transition for the new head of a long-steady organization. Lori Marsh joined Fairhaven Community as an interim nursing home administrator on Aug. 8, and in less than a month, the new job had become a perfect fit.
