COLUMBUS — Grange Insurance has recognized the Reid Insurance Agency of Upper Sandusky as a leader in the insurance agency, awarding it Grange’s senior partner designation, according to a press release. Each year, Grange honors a select group of its independent agency partners by recognizing them with the title of senior partner.

The Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities meeting scheduled for Thursday is canceled. A special board meeting has been rescheduled for 7:30 pm. Wednesday at Angeline School and Industries.

Makers of the Handy Safety Knife are proud to celebrate 120 years of making all their safety ring knives domestically, according to a press release. The Handy Twine Knife Company, founded in Upper Sandusky, is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year.

Seventeen Upper Sandusky High School junior and senior marketing students will advance to Ohio DECA state marketing competition in Columbus as a result of their high placement at the recent DECA District 3 marketing competition held at Ohio Northern University.

Recruitment is underway to enroll participants in the next Micro Business Development Program offered by the HHWP Community Action Commission. The program consists of 13 sessions from 5:45-8:45 p.m. Thursdays from March 2 through June 1.

KENTON — Home Town Media Ltd., a company owned and operated by a small group of investors, including the local Haushalter family, has officially purchased WKTN radio from Radio General Ltd. Home Town Media began operation of WKTN Feb. 1.

The Wyandot County Chamber of Commerce capped off months of growth with a name change to kick off 2017. The ageny’s growth and success were acknowleged across the state Thursday evening when President and CEO Kathy Grasz was surprised with the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Ohio’s Chamber Professional of the Year award. Grasz received the award during the CCEO Winter Conference in Newark.

CAREY — As he enters his 40th year in the business of selling automobiles, Rick Wagner is excited to bring customers a new and improved experience. With construction complete on a new car dealership on U.S. 23 entering the village of Carey from the south side, the Wagner Ford dealer is welcoming Wyandot County and the surrounding area to a grand opening event to kick off the year.

MARION — United Church Homes recently appointed Richard Dible as its new vice president of finance. Dible will manage all aspects of UCH’s accounting and finance and collaborate with senior management to ensure continuous business improvement, a press release states. A Bucyrus native, Dible began his role with the non-profit, faith-based organization Nov. 29.

CAREY — The Carey Area Chamber of Commerce will continue to serve Carey and the surrounding community moving forward, Director Cassie Carlson said during Monday’s annual meeting.
