SYCAMORE — First National Bank of Sycamore has announced that after 44 years of service on the board of directors, Charles “Charlie” Zimmer will be retiring at the end of this year. Zimmer retired from the bank in 2008 as senior vice president of lending and has served as a director since 1973. He also will be retiring as a director of FNB Bancshares Inc.

Marseilles Village Council met in regular session last Tuesday. Mayor Rick Arnold, Clerk-treasurer Barbara Arnold, Kenneth Arnold, Brad Hensel, Scott Hensel, Uhl Hensel and Charlotte Leeth were present.

The Steer Barn has been an Upper Sandusky landmark for over a century, and it has received some major renovations over the summer and early fall to get modernized. An open house is planned for Monday from noon to 7 p.m. with appetizers and drinks to showcase the new and improved facility. An auction will take place at 1 p.m.
