COLUMBUS — North Central Electric Cooperative board trustee Nick Wagner spoke on behalf of Ohio’s 24 electric cooperatives in a round table discussion at Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives in Columbus last week to express approval for the Environmental Protective Agency’s new ACE Rule that replaces the Obama administration’s Clean Power Plan, which, according to officials, had strict regulations that would have hurt the energy industries.

AEP Ohio extending smart grid technology across service territory

GAHANNA — AEP Ohio, an American Electric Power company, recently submitted its grid modernization expansion plan with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio to bring advanced smart grid technologies including smart meters, customer access to real-time energy usage data, and distribution system reliability enhancements throughout its service territory. If approved, this plan will provide the benefits of advanced grid technology to all AEP Ohio customers.

Bridgestone celebrated the 20-year anniversary of plant 3 in Upper Sandusky on Thursday with a plant tour for local community leaders and a ceremony for its workers. Plant Manager John Vanderpool explained that plant 3 is part of Bridgestone’s diversified products. Bridgestone has two plants in Upper Sandusky, plant 3 is part of the Foam Products Division while plant 2 is Anti-Vibration Division products.
