The parking lot renovations performed at the Upper Sandusky McDonald’s, 1650 E. Wyandot Ave., last year have been honored with the Commercial Concrete Parking Lot Project of the Year award by the Ohio Concrete Association. Pictured are (from left) John Turner, of Ironwood Phoenix Inc., McDonald’s owner Jerry Lewis, Wayne Moening, director of the northwest Ohio division of the Ohio Concrete Association, and Buckeye Ready-Mix sales representative Jerry Shane. Shane coordinated the project and Performance Construction, Findlay, and Patriot Concrete, Bluffton, administered the pouring of 674 cubic yards of concrete between Aug. 30, 2011 and Dec. 7, 2011. Moening said 17 projects in northwest Ohio were submitted for the award. Ironwood Phoenix, Lebanon, constructed the new building at the location during the same time frame. Lewis owns 17 McDonald’s chains in the region.
